Our First Parade

We went to our first parade today! And it was a tractor parade! There were 48 old (classic, I suppose) tractors in this parade. We sat and watched in amazement at all the tractors go by! Everyone waved at us and told us how precious we are. Daddy and Grandpa should be ashamed for not participating!

Country Girls!

and tonight we had our first ride around the fields. I know most of you reading this won't understand, and then a few of you have actually experienced this with me ;-) Since Keith and I were dating, during the summer months or when crops were planted, I would ride around with him to look at the fields...usually around dusk. Fun and relaxing and some more exciting times we had to go 4 wheel drive, weeee....

So tonight the twins had their first ride in Daddy's truck around the fields. They really enjoyed looking out the window, feeling the breeze and holding the steering wheel helping Daddy drive! Addison loved to hold her hand out the window and Makayla enjoyed blowing the horn. Yes, they are a mess! Of course Daddy had to go straight up the steepest hill too, so they got to "4 wheel" for the first time! This is the beginning to many summer nights with Daddy and his Little Country Girls!

Runny Noses

Hello! We haven't written much this week because we have been wiping runny noses and trying to keep whiny, not feeling so good baby girls occupied! They seem to be feeling better today. Which is just great because we are supposedly about to have a few days of good weather! Here are some pics from Pullen Park Sunday that I have been meaning to get posted. The girls had a good time, but were a bit tuckered! We're having a blast, they are so much fun!

Shoes are a girl's best friend, or maybe not!

The twins have never worn shoes. Mainly no shoes were small enough to fit them in the beginning, then they would only take them off. So I decided and told Keith we really needed to introduce them to shoes or they may run around barefoot their entire life. We have many shoes that have been (thankfully) passed down from friends, but of course Mom wanted cute, matching, summer (inexpensive, in case this was not success) shoes. So...me and the girls went shopping yesterday of course to Target and bought their first shoes...or the first ones we actually plan on wearing. It was rather cute! They looked at me and Keith as if we had traumatized their beautiful little feet and toes! Then they sat starring at their feet for a few minutes. Finally, they started touching the shoes still wondering why we were being so vicious with these things we put on their feet! Kayla managed to get her toes freed successfully and Addison being the tiny little thing she is got her entire feet free in a matter of seconds. Alison, who sits in front of us at church each Sunday, assured me that I had not wasted my money; I had just bought new teething devices!

All Better

It seems as though the fever was a 24 hour thing. We got the lovely words from the doctor, "it's just a virus." Normally I wait 3 days of continuous fever to take them to the doctor, but this time out of fear of an ear infection, we went ahead. Needless to say, I should stick to me 3 days! So they are back to swinging and laughing and being ah, spoiled rotten!

Pictures

Just want to share a few new pics!

First Night, New Routine

Yeah, It didn't happen! When I got home from work Addison had a fever. Once I brought both girls home, I checked Makayla's and she did too. Grandma was hoping it was only teething, but after monitoring the girls for the night and a week of Makayla tugging her ear...I think we might be facing our second round of ear infections. Not sure, but it is my hypothesis. I will call the doctor in the morning and hopefully get some meds to clear them up over the weekend. A mother's heart really breaks when her baby girls don't feel so well! We will try again as soon as they are better!
